The Women Who Light Our Way
Honoring the women whose love and legacy shape our lives
Today is International Women’s Day, and it felt right to pause and acknowledge it here.
As many of you know, The Mourning Manager™ was inspired by the woman at the center of my life, my late mother.
But the truth is, this work was never powered by just one woman.
It has been carried forward by many.
Women who encouraged me when I was still deciding whether this idea even deserved to exist. Women who told me quietly to keep going when I wondered if anyone needed what I was building. Women who were among the first to subscribe, to share, and to say, this matters.
This community exists because women believed in it.
And when I step back and look at our lives more broadly, that pattern repeats itself again and again.
Many of us are here because of the strength, love, sacrifice, and leadership of women who shaped us.
Some are still with us. Some are not. But their influence remains. So today, as we should every day, I lift them up.
The women of legacy.
The women of love.
The women who stand beside us.
And the women whose light we now carry forward.
May we not take them for granted.
May we honor them well.
And may we live each day in a way that reflects the light they placed in us.
Before you go, I invite you to do one small thing.
Drop the name of a woman whose legacy of love still guides your life. Let’s honor her together.
Take care, friends.
